Dr Ammar Al Mahmood

Dr.Al Mahmood is a senior consultant ophthalmologist specialized in Refractive Surgery, Cataract, Cornea and Uveitis.

He is also a senior consultant at the Eye Specialist Hospital in the Eastern Province in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Dr. Ammar Al Mahmood is the Head of the Anterior Segment Department in the Eye Specialized Hospital, which subspecializes in the correction of myopia, astigmatism, hyperopia and presbyopia through various surgical procedures, including LASIK and ICL surgeries.

Dr.Al Mahmood completed his medical training at the Arabian Gulf University. He joined the ophthalmology training program in Riyadh (One of the most prestigious programs in the region) which awarded him the Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons (Glasgow) and Fellowship of King Saud University in afddition to Saudi Board of Ophthalmology. Dr. Al Mahmood subsequently went on to complete 2 advanced Fellowship Programs on Cornea, Cataract and Refractive Surgery and second on Uveitis at the King Khaled Eye Specialist Center ( Highest ranked Eye Center in the Middle East).

Dr.Al Mahmood's research interests include refractive surgery, cataracts, cornealdiseasein addition to epidemiology of uveitic diseases among the region. He has published papers in international peer-reviewed journals on these topics and written a book chapter on corneal infections. In addition, he has participated in numerous local and international conferences and was involved in organizing and conducting instructional courses both locally and overseas.

DrAl Mahmood has been awarded the best resident award at King Khaled Eye Specialist Hospital during his training. Dr. Al Mahmood is actively involved in postgraduate and undergraduate education of ophthalmology trainees and medical students, and has received “Best Teacher” nominations from students that he has trained at Eye Specialist Hospital in Dhahran. In addition Dr. Al Mahmood was selected among the Elite cataract surgeon in the Middle East during EPOMIC ALCON meeting in Dubai 2018.

Dr. Abdulla Aoun Al Qahtani

Consultant& Assistant Professor, Vitreo-Retianl Disease and Surgery

Dr.Al Qahtani is a Consultant vitro-Retinal surgeonand an assistant professor in ophthalmology at the Imam Faisal bin Abdulrhman University in Dammam. He sees and performs surgeries on patients with retinal problems, including those with age-related macular degeneration; diabetic retinopathy and maculopathy; central and branch retinal vein occlusions; retinal detachments and inherited retinal dystrophies.

Dr.Al Qahtani obtained his basic medical degree from the King Faisal University. He completed his post-graduate training in Ophthalmology at King Khaled Eye Specialist Hospital in Riyadh and obtained his Fellowship of in Ophthalmology. Subsequently, He completed his fellowship in Surgical Retina. Later on, he completed a fellowship in retinal genetics at the Oregon Health and Science University at the United States.

DrAl Qahtani practices at the King Fahd University Hospital in Khubar. Besides his clinical practice, Dr.Al Qahtani is also an Assistant Professor at the Faisal bin Abdulrhman University in Dammam Medical School, teaching junior doctors and medical students. He also organizes and gives talks and coursesin ophthalmology.

Dr Ahmed Al Habash

Consultant& Assistant Professor, Glaucoma& CataractSurgery

Dr.Al Habash is a Consultantglaucoma and cataract surgeon. He is also an assistant professor in ophthalmology at the Imam Faisal bin Abdulrhman University in Dammam. He sees and performs surgeries on patients with glaucoma problems, including those with elevated intra-ocular pressure as a primary cause or secondary to diabetic retinopathy, previous surgeries or congenital glaucoma.

Dr. Al Habash qualified from Dammam University College of medicine and completed his ophthalmology residency-training program at the eastern province ophthalmology program graduating as one of the top among his colleagues. He completed his higher surgical training and gained specialist fellowship training in glaucoma at KingKhaled Eye Specialist Hospital, Riyadh.

Dr.Al Habash practices at the King Fahd University Hospital in Khubar and Eye Specialist Hospital in Dhahran. Besides his clinical practice, Dr.Al Qahtani is also an Assistant Professor at the Faisal bin Abdulrhman University in Dammamcolleague of medicine, teaching junior doctors and medical students. Dr. Al Habash is a talented glaucoma surgeon performing the most advance surgery in the field. The include iStent implantation ( most advanced glaucoma drainage valve ), Deep Sclerectomy ( Non-penetrating glaucoma surgery ), Ahmed valve implant, trabeculectomy, internal and external glaucoma laser treatment, in addition to clinic based laser procedures including YAG laser and selective laser trabeculoplasty.

Dr Hala Naseem

Consultant, OculoplastySurgery

Dr. Naseem is one of the few pioneers in the Oculoplastic and Orbit sub-specialty. She is recognized for her contribution to the establishment and the development of the Oculoplastic Department, Orbit and Ophthalmic Prosthetic departments in the King Fahd University Hospital in Khubar.

Dr. Naseem holds a MBBS from King Faisal University, Saudi Board of Ophthalmology in addition to a fellowship training in Oculoplastic Surgery.

Dr. Naseem has considerable experience in eyelids, lacrimal, orbit, socket diseases and surgery in children and adults and aesthetic procedures. She sees and performs surgeries on patients with in congenital ptosis, thyroid eye disease, orbital diseases and socket reconstructive surgery. She is pioneer in blepharoplasty, Botox and fillers injections.

Dr. Naseem is particularly active in medical education for undergraduate and post-graduate medical students of Imam Faisal bin Abdulrhman University in Dammam and has been a regular examiner in the ophthalmology fellowship examinations. She has also been a mentor for many local residents for advanced training in Oculoplastic Surgery.

Dr. Mansour Al Shammari

Consultant Ophthalmolgist, Strabismus and Pediatric Ophthalmology

Dr.Al Shammari is a Senior ConsultantStrabismus and Pediatric Ophthalmology Surgeon. He practices general ophthalmology and subspecializes in Strabismus &Pediatric Ophthalmology. He performs various clinical services in the subspecialty. These include management of strabismus for both adults and children, amblyopia , retinopathy of prematurity, botulinum injections for strabismus, myopia, retinoblastoma, genetic eye diseases, electrophysiological support. In addition to his subspecialty, he has particular interest in helping with vision rehabilitation of children and adults.

Following obtaining his medical degree, Dr. Al Shammaripersuaded his carrier as an ophthalmologistand successfully completed his ophthalmology training receiving the certificate of fellowship in ophthalmology from Royal Colleague of Surgeons in Glasgow in addition to the certificate of the International Council of Ophthalmology at the United Kingdom.He completed his higher surgical training and gained specialist fellowship training in Strabismus and Pediatric Ophthalmology at KingKhaled Eye Specialist Hospital, Riyadh.

Dr.Al Shammari practices at the Al Bahar Eye Specialist Hospital and Dar Al Shifa Specialist Hospital both in in Kuwait. He has trained many doctors, medical students, orthoptists and affiliated staff.
